Rapid Bio hosts delegation from leading Russian and Uzbek medical universities

More than 30 academics and students from leading medical universities in Russia and Uzbekistan have visited the production site of Rapid Bio, a Russian manufacturer of rapid diagnostic tests. The visit took place on 20 May 2025 and was aimed at strengthening academic and industrial ties in the field of laboratory and point-of-care diagnostics.

Russia was represented by Professor Yuri Vyazovichenko and Senior Lecturer Maxim Antipov of Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, who were accompanied by a group of early-career researchers. The delegation from Uzbekistan included faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students from Tashkent State Medical University and the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino. It was led by Professor Gulbakhor Matnazarova, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Head of the Department of Epidemiology at Tashkent State Medical University.

The visit is seen as part of a broader push to deepen cooperation between universities and industry across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), with both sides expressing interest in developing long-term partnerships in education, research and innovation in medical diagnostics.
